This is a highly collaborative role working closely with our established team of teachers. Our Before and After School teams work inside each district's elementary school to provide fun, age-appropriate activities and games to keep children busy while awaiting the start of the school day or pick-up. This person will be responsible for the structure of the programs, supervising and assisting support staff, handling parent issues and child issues and planning and leading all activities and schedules. This position is ideal for someone with high energy, friendly, and reliable and outgoing personality.A typical before/after school program consists of arts & crafts, STEM projects, outdoor time, gym time (if the space is available) and homework assistance if needed. Our teachers are also responsible for building positive, professional relationships with our parents and families to support open and continuous communication.Essentials Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, group or individual activities, playground activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environmentAssist with organizing and monitoring appropriate activities for school aged childrenSubmit monthly plans, supply lists, and newsletters by the assigned due datesProvide constant, supportive, effective, and professional communication with co-workers, parents, and childrenImplement positive methods of discipline and guidance to students
