Diesel Mechanic

Scrap Management Industries inc. is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Our company runs a high-volume freight operation, and we rely on professional mechanics to keep our trucks DOT-compliant, road-ready, and running at peak performance. If you're experienced with heavy-duty trucks, enjoy a fast-paced shop, with a self-directed workflow, and take pride in your work, this role is for you.Duties/Responsibilities:Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and trailer systemsPerform routine maintenance, including PMs, oil changes, tire checks, and brake servicesUtilize diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Noregon, etc.) to troubleshoot issues and complete repairsConduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA standardsMaintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records (digitally)Coordinate with dispatch and operations manager for truck downtime and service schedulingRespond to occasional roadside service calls or after-hours breakdowns (rotation basis)Performs other related duties as assigned.
