Life Safety Technician

Position Summary:The Life Safety Technician is responsible for installing, testing, inspecting, and maintaining life safety systems, including fire alarm, smoke control, and integrated building safety systems. This position supports new installations, retrofit projects, and service work to ensure all life safety systems operate in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and NRG Controls’ quality expectations. The Life Safety Technician works under the direction of the Life Safety Team Lead to complete projects safely, efficiently, and accurately.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Install and terminate wiring for fire alarm and life safety systems according to drawings and specifications. Test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm panels, devices, and communication networks. Assist in system programming, device addressing, and functional testing. Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm and life safety systems. Document system performance, test results, and inspection reports. Ensure all installations and repairs comply with NFPA, NEC, and local fire protection codes. Work collaboratively with general contractors, electricians, and inspectors on active job sites. Follow company and OSHA safety policies at all times. Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good working condition. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients. Participate in ongoing safety and technical training programs.
