Security Systems Engineer

Position Summary:The Security Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, and integration of electronic security and access control systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection, and card access systems. This position ensures all security system designs and configurations meet project requirements, industry codes, and NRG Controls’ standards of quality and reliability. The Security Systems Engineer works collaboratively with the engineering, project management, and field installation teams to deliver fully functional and technically sound security solutions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design and engineer electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection. Prepare detailed design documents, including wiring diagrams, device layouts, and control schematics. Program and configure security system controllers, servers, and network devices. Integrate security systems with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or other facility technologies as required. Conduct system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure full functionality and compliance. Collaborate with project managers and technicians to coordinate installation and implementation schedules. Provide technical support during project planning, installation, and customer handover. Maintain accurate project documentation and as-built drawings. Research and recommend new technologies, products, and design improvements. Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and NRG Controls’ quality standards. Support system upgrades, software updates, and network security practices. Provide end-user training and post-installation technical assistance when required.
