Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for an experienced Senior Facilities Manager to oversee facilities services at multiple secure government justice facilities in the Western NSW region. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll work closely with client representatives, vendors and a small on-site BGIS team of two to keep the site safe, compliant and well maintained.
This is a highly client-facing role. You'll be the main point of contact for the client on site, so strong relationship skills and a personable, professional manner will matter as much as your technical and commercial knowledge.
The ideal candidate is capable, organised and approachable. You're comfortable balancing competing priorities, you manage your time well, and you enjoy building positive working relationships with clients, vendors and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee delivery of all contracted facilities services, making sure KPIs are consistently met.
Manage contract financial performance, including budgets, invoicing, cost management and timely supplier payments.
Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance using the CMMS, keeping data and reports accurate.
Develop scopes of works and contract documentation in line with BGIS procurement processes.
Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, including documentation, WHS compliance and assessment of completed works.
Prepare and obtain approvals for variations and additional works.
Build strong, trusted relationships with client representatives and stakeholders.
Prepare monthly reports and run client meetings, including agendas and minutes.
Support and guide the on-site team, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.
Make sure WHS inductions, risk assessments and safe work practices are in place for all contract work.
Suggest practical improvements to service delivery and ways of working with the client.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
Experience in facilities management, property or a similarly complex environment at a senior level.
Experience delivering integrated facilities, property, project and financial management services.
Sound commercial and financial understanding, including budgeting and business planning.
Experience managing subcontractors and vendors.
Experience working within QA, WHS and environmental systems.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a personable, professional approach.
Strong time management and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and CMMS platforms.
Desirable:
Tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
Experience in justice, government or other secure environments.
Experience with regional or remote site operations.
Workplace Flexibility
This is a full time, permanent position based on-site in Wellington NSW (scheduled regional travel required for auditing purposes)
