Software Engineer

Job Overview Job Title: Software Engineer Department: Information Technology Unit: Application Function Reports To: Head of Application Delivery & Engineering Country: Lebanon Branch: Saida Job Purpose Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications, integrations, and software solutions. Work independently within established architecture and engineering standards to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions and support continuous improvement. Key Accountabilities Application Development & Engineering Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and software solutions using approved technologies and platforms. Develop enhancements, APIs, integrations, database components, automation, and reusable software components. Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions. Troubleshoot defects and improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Technical Design & Integration Contribute to application design and technical solution decisions. Develop APIs, integrations, database structures, procedures, scripts, and technical interfaces. Support data migration, transformation, and validation activities. Follow approved architecture, security, integration, and development standards. Quality, Security & DevOps Prepare and execute unit, integration, and technical testing. Participate in code reviews and resolve identified defects. Apply secure coding, source control, documentation, and software quality standards. Support controlled build, deployment, release, and CI/CD practices. Delivery & Collaboration Support implementation, UAT, deployment, and go-live activities. Maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer before transition to operational support. Provide development progress, technical risk, issue, and effort updates. Provide L3 technical support for issues requiring code, database, API, integration, or automation changes. Collaborate with Business Applications & Run, Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, Application PMO & Governance, business stakeholders, and vendors. Prepare, verify, and send periodic reports, or any other data reporting material as per work requirement and management requests. Participate in arranging and attending of required travel, activities, meetings, or workshops as per management request and work requirements. Carry out any other duties as per management request or work requirements. Interactions and Work Relationships Internal Accounting, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Management, IT, Audit, Graphic Design, Warehousing, Operations External Software Design, BMB, ITEC, Sets Qualifications Experience Typically 2–4 years of relevant experience in software, web, application, integration, automation, or low-code development. Education and Certification Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications are an advantage. Job Specific Skills • Good knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, testing, and debugging. • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL. • Experience with web applications, APIs, integrations, automation, or low-code/no-code platforms. • Working knowledge of source control, CI/CD, deployment, and technical documentation practices. • Understanding of secure coding and application security principles. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. • Ability to work independently and learn new technologies as required. Technology Environment: The role works across approved application development, integration, automation, data, low-code/no-code, cloud, and AI-enabled development platforms. Technologies and tools may evolve with business needs and the Group IT technology roadmap. Current environment may include: .NET/C#, ASP.NET MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, Microsoft Power Platform, APIs, Azure, Git, and AI-assisted development tools.
